The Level 2 workshop was joined by nine DWN members for a session to expand basic skills and gain inspiration from one another through sharing examples of their VJ performance. The session included: *Techniques for preparing a VJ set using a ‘storyboard’ *Hints and tips to improve footage, including creative editing of clips before using live effects *Question-and-answer session to deal with problems
Hands-on work included a chance to use a V4 mixer (with DVD and live camera feed), an Entrancer Kaoss Pad and Resolume 2.3. As usual at Network gathering the benefits spread far wider than simply the session. New contacts were made, information shared and kit loans agreed! The workshop was held on 28 October in the Digital Lounge, Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle - their support is very much appreciated. Feedback from members suggested they enjoyed: * interacting with other ‘digital’ women *swapping info and drawing on one another’s experiences, and *seeing other peoples creativity People also made a point of saying how much they were ‘inspired’ by the session.
The Level 2 workshop was a follow-up to the recent Beginners workshop. It’s hoped to move on to a ‘Mistressclass’ session, inviting a visiting VJ to come and share ideas.
