Isis Arts and Woodhorn present Everyone's Home is their Castle....
Isis Arts and Woodhorn present a new screening programme, featuring 14 innovative works by international artists: Tanya Axford, Lindsay Duncanson, Alistair Gentry, Paul Grimmer, Martin Hamblen, Sarah Noble, Chris Oakley, Eric Olofsen, John Quinn, Kelly Richardson, Corinna Schnitt, Stuart Simpson, Theodore J Tagholm and Sofia Hulten. The works range from experimental and performance to digital manipulation and respond to the theme of Everyone's Home is their Castle. They push the boundries of video production and highlight the diversity of practice within the expanding area. The Big M is a highly stylised inflatable structure that functions as a temporary and mobile venue for the presentation of the video and digital media. Via a specially designed touch screen interface, viewers choose their own programme by selecting individual works, each with a running time of 5 minutes or less. Three video projectors show work on DVD in a three screen arrangement with stereographic sound. Programme curated by Sharon Bailey, Clymene Christoforou, Adinda van't Klooster (ISIS Arts); independent curator Michelle Hirschorn and Lesley Hehir, exhibition developer at Woodhorn, to co-incide with the opening of Woodhorn, Northumberland Museum Archives and Country Park. Exhibition runs until Sunday 19th November 2006. Wednesday to Sunday 10am - 4pm (closed Monday and Tuesday) |
