Key messagesGlobal and local impacts of climate change We all produce CO2 through homes, transport If average temperature rises more than 3/4C then irreversible Scientists say at least a 60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is required to take us to safe levels This climate change acceleration is reversible but only if we take action within the next 10-20 years Depends what collective action we take AudienceThe target audience is very broad spectrum in terms of age and socio economic class and is primarily defined by current attitudes to climate change. They are defined as ‘dormant’ and ‘tough nuts’, who are much less likely to believe that climate is changing now - and more likely that their level of personal influence is ‘none’. Energy saving motivations are financial. A particular concentration in economically inactive and E social group. The secondary target audience are adults who are ‘climate change concerned’ (41% of overall NE adult population) are those very concerned about UK climate change. |
