Coming Up is Channel 4 and IWC Media’s newly-launched drama scheme for emerging talent, open to writers, directors and filmmakers who are building a career for themselves in TV drama.
Successful filmmakers will have the chance to make an authored drama with a guaranteed network broadcast. Idea should be contemporary and should push boundaries in a way that isn’t usually done in mainstream drama. (They should also be capable of being made in 4 days on a limited budget.) Coming Up is open to all writers who have not had an original single, series or serial broadcast on UK television – although writers who have contributed episodes to a series can also apply. Directors should not have any prime-time TV drama credits, and writer/directors should be able to demonstrate excellence in both areas.
