Community Docs bids PDF Print E-mail
Northern Film & Media and the Community Channel are providing an opportunity for filmmakers and production companies to make a half-hour TV broadcast documentary programme about a North East community.

Projects should be positive, accessible and engaging and should reflect the passions, ambitions and everyday lives of people in the region. The three selected entries are likely to highlight how people are setting out to make things better – changing their lives, their communities and really making a difference.

·     The core budget for each programme will be £7,000 but projects can ‘top-up’ their budget with additional funding, if available.

·     The films will be aired after 9pm on a date in September 2006 (date to be confirmed).

·     The films must be 27 minutes long to allow for a commercial break.

·     Projects will be short listed by Nick Ware (Controller of Community Channel), Krishan Arora (BBC Independents Executive) and Tom Harvey (CEO Northern Film & Media).

The scheme is open to independent producers or production companies based in the North East region (Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Tees Valley).
Applicants must be over 18 and not in full-time or undergraduate education.
All productions will receive Executive Producer support from the team at Community Channel.
The deadline for applications has now passed - watch this space for information on the films which have been commissioned
