4 Mini residency opportunities at ISIS Arts PDF Print E-mail

ISIS Arts is seeking submissions from artists, living in the North East of England, who are working with new media in innovative ways....

These residencies offer a self-contained studio space for three weeks, a fee of £1200 (to include any travel and expenses) and access to ISIS equipment during the residency period. (A list of equipment available can be found on the ISIS website www.isisarts.org.uk)

Some technical assistance is also available (maximum of 2 days per residency) but the artist will be expected to be mostly self-reliant and familiar with the media they want to use. The deadline for submissions is Friday 23rd November 2007.

The residencies will take place between December 2007 and July 2008. Due to their short nature they are particularly suitable for project or practical research.

ISIS Arts promotes the making, presentation and exchange of experimental media art through residency, commissioning and training opportunities for artists.  The ISIS programme seeks to address themes of identity and cultural understanding and we engage with artists to produce work that challenges and presents subjects within new contexts.

To apply please include:
 •  A project proposal, maximum 2 sheets of A4, clearly indicating technical requirements, including equipment/technical support provided by the artist.
 •  Documentation of previous work (Audio, Video (DVD) or digital, maximum 10 minutes.
 •  Current CV.
 •  A clear indication of availability and preferred dates.
 •  SAE for return of materials.

To: ISIS Arts, 1st Floor, 5 Charlotte Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4XF.

Selections will take place the week beginning the 26th November 2007.
Residencies can start from 10th of December 2007.
