VJ’s are fast becoming the new ‘must have’ for bars and clubs with the techniques making inroads into film, television and the visual arts. And if that’s not reason enough to seek out your nearest AV / VJ night it’s also fun to watch and to do. On 27 April, DWN showcased six of the best North East women VJs at Lumen (the monthly AV - Audio-Visual - night hosted by NAME at Agora bar in Newcastle). As part of the event, VJ CaCi (that’s me – honest) delivered a set made up of visual images (video, graphics, animation and stills) produced by other members of the Network. In the run up to and after the event, I’ll be taking you through the process. That way, when you join the party on the night or read entries you’ll understand how it all works – and you’ll know just how much work I’ve put into making it all look effortless!
