| New Awards for region's media to enter |

The 20th Royal Television Society regional Awards have been launched, with new categories and new opportunities for screenings. New media, music for moving image and animation entries are welcome, with the Presentations held at The Sage Gateshead for the first time. The full list of Awards categories are available on the RTS website. They include: * Best Production for a Target Audience - this includes community work, education and training productions and corporates * Best Factual Production * Best Drama/ Entertainment Production * Best Craft * Moving Image Company of the Year There is also a new Celebration initiative which will feature New Talent; Innovation; Artistes and also the achievements of ex-pats - people from the region who've gone on to achieve international recognition.
